St. Martha Parent Association
The St Martha Parent Association is responsible for working with the principal and the School Board to raise funds to supplement tuition and providing social gatherings to enhance our sense of community.
The St. Martha Parent Association (SMPA) President will serve as the liaison to fundraising and social committees. The SMPA Vice President will assist the President as the liaison. The SMPA will instruct Committee Chairs on financial procedures and policies, Parent Association budget, expenses, event revenue, and be the liaison with the school finance department for all collected and paid funds, bills, and receipts.
The following are the working SMPA Committees:
Catholic Outreach Committee
The Catholic Outreach Committee is responsible for coordinating and supporting activities that promote the school’s Catholic Identity. Activities include the weekly Rosary Group; All Faith’s Food Bank food drives and volunteer days; clothing, book, and school supply drives; and coordinating the Keep Sarasota County Beautiful Adopt-A-Road clean-up dates and volunteers.
Cafeteria Volunteer Committee
The Cafeteria Committee is responsible for coordinating volunteers to assist in the Cafeteria each school day.
Spring Fling Committee
The Spring Fling Committee is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the Annual Spring Fling event.
Big Cash Raffle Committee
The Big Cash Raffle Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating this annual raffle drawing. Tasks include design and printing, ticket distribution, organizing ticket sales at local churches and businesses, record-keeping for all ticket sales, etc.
Room Parent Committee
The Room Parent Committee is formed by all the Room Parents at school. Room Parents help disseminate information to other parents about school. They collaborate in planning special events for their assigned classrooms. Room Parents are expected to attend monthly meetings.
Teacher Appreciation Committee
The Teacher Appreciation Committee is responsible for working closely with School Administration to plan, coordinate and implement activities and a luncheon for Teacher Appreciation Week.
Library Volunteers
The Library Committee assists the school Librarian / Media Specialist weekly with tasks such as shelving books, minor book repair, assisting students in checking-out / checking-in books, library inventory and helps to coordinate the Book Fair, which takes place twice per year.
New Family Ambassador Committee
The New Family Ambassadors Committee works to recruit current families to serve as mentors for new families prior to the start of the school year as well as throughout the year.
