Biographical Pumpkins

As an extension of learning about different book genres, 3rd Graders did a pumpkin biography of a famous person in history. They chose a biography to read and do an interactive book report on. They designed “trick or treat” bags and filled it with candy shaped fact cards about their person’s life. Pumpkins were decorated to represent their famous person with a Halloween twist! 8th Graders headed out bright and early Monday morning for the trip to Washington, DC! They hit the ground running with the first stop being Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the Changing of the Guard, President Kennedy’s Tomb, and the Lee House with amazing views. They visited and learned all about the FDR Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial. Dinner was at Georgetown University. They ended the day with evening tours of the Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and the WWII Memorial. #ExcellenceInKnowledge #8thGrade #DCTrip
