About Our Parent Association

The Parent Association of St. Martha Catholic School (PA) is responsible for welcoming new parents, encouraging new and existing families to volunteer at school, working with the Administration and School Board to raise funds to supplement tuition, communicating with parents and the surrounding communities on school achievements and events, and providing family social gatherings to enhance our sense of community.

The PA is comprised completely of parent volunteers and serves in a non-paid capacity reporting to the Administration and School Board. The PA consists of an Executive Board (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Volunteer Coordinator) and three Major Committees with a number of subcommittees/service groups.

Each March Willingness to Serve Forms are sent home to parents asking for volunteers to serve as PA Officers and Committee Chairpersons for the following year. All parents are encouraged to participate in the many volunteer opportunities available through the Parent Association. Each family is required to volunteer 20 hours per school year. The Parent Association of St. Martha Catholic School is responsible for the following services:

Fundraising Committees

1. Knights on the Run - Fall Event (Pep Rally and Jog-a-thon)

2. SCRIP Gift Cards - (Promote, Sell, and Administer Gift Cards throughout the year)
3. Light up the Knight Spring Auction Event - (Promote, Sell tickets to and Coordinate this spring event)

5. Target Charge Program - (Year round promotion of this program via flyers & messages for newsletter)

6. Box Tops for Education Program - (Year round promotion of this program)

7. Ink Cartridges - (Year round promotion of this program)

Services Committees

1. New Family Mentor Program - (Recruit mentor families, match them with new families etc.)

2. Adopt-a-Class Program - (Promote, receive payments, send thank you's, provide list to newsletter)

3. The Rosary Group - (Coordinate weekly prayer group who meet in chapel)

4. Heart-to-Heart Program - (Coordinate assistance for St. Martha families in need)

5. School Spirit Store - (Coordinate ordering, setup, sales, and promotions of school spirit items)

6. Teacher Appreciation - (Coordinate luncheons during Catholic Schools Week and at the end of the year)

7. Book Fair Coordinator - (Coordinate one fall and one spring book fair)

Communication/Social Committees

1. Boy's Social - Fall Event (Social with Food and Entertainment)

2. Parent Social- Fall Event (Adult Social Dinner and Dancing 09/29/07)

3. Family Tailgate Party - Fall Event (Family Social Cookout and CMHS Football Game 11/09/07)

4. Classroom Coordinator Program - Year Round (Organize and Communicate with Class Coordinators)

5. Father/Daughter Dance - February Event (Social Dinner and Dancing)

6. Field Day Coordinator - (Coordinate end of year all-school athletic event and lunch)

7. Family Directory - End of current school year (Organize collection of names and addresses for family communication)
