Academics

Our core curriculum is guided by the Diocese of Venice and the Sunshine State Standards, however, we strive to exceed these standards. We measure our academic performance in a variety of ways including the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills where our scores are compared to schools not just in Florida, but across the nation. St. Martha students have consistently performed in the top 20% across the nation year after year.

Our core subjects include Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Religion. Our specials include Art, Music, Drama, Spanish, Physical Education and Library. Please refer to the individual subjects listed on the Academics submenu to review the details for each subject. Questions regarding curriculum may be directed to our Principal, Mrs. Siobhan Young, syoung@stmarthaschool.net or call her at (941)953-4181.

We also have a School Board Curriculum Committee that consists of the Principal, our resource teacher, a variety of other teachers, and school board members. This committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss specific areas that may need to be addressed based academic developments, test scores or other statistical data. Any questions for this committee may be directed to the school board at the following email: schoolboard@stmarthaschool.net.

Please refer to our main web site under the Academics Menu to see the curriculum details (scope and sequence documents).
